What Is the HydraFacial
The HydraFacial is a non-invasive, multi-step skincare treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration in a single device-based session.
Unlike a traditional facial, the HydraFacial uses patented Vortex-Fusion technology to deliver active serums into the skin while simultaneously removing dead cells and impurities.
At the Institute for Ageless Living, we use the Elite HydraFacial – the most advanced system on the platform – performed in our medical aesthetic environment under the direction of our Founder and Medical Director, Dr. Kirk E. Mitchell, MD.

How the HydraFacial Works

The HydraFacial follows three core steps, each designed to build on the last:
- Cleanse and Peel – gentle exfoliation removes dead skin cells and surface debris, uncovering a fresh new layer of skin.
- Extract and Hydrate – painless suction removes impurities from pores while the skin is bathed in moisturizing serums.
- Fuse and Protect – the skin is saturated with antioxidants and peptides to maximize glow and protect against environmental stressors.
Your treatment ends with complimentary LED light therapy to support collagen production, calm any redness, and amplify the brightening effect.

Before Your HydraFacial
To get the best results from your treatment, please follow these guidelines in the days leading up to your appointment:
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine right before your appointment, as they can increase skin sensitivity
- Avoid active skincare products for 2–3 days prior (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide)
- Limit sun exposure and avoid sunburn before your appointment
- Do not wax, thread, or shave the treatment area for at least 24–48 hours prior
- Avoid chemical peels or exfoliating treatments for at least 1 week before
- Stay hydrated
- Arrive with clean skin if possible (minimal or no makeup)
- Inform your aesthetician of any skin conditions (acne, rosacea, eczema), allergies or sensitivities, and current skincare products or medications

What to Expect During Your HydraFacial
Your appointment begins with a brief skin assessment and a conversation with your aesthetician about your concerns and goals. From there, your treatment proceeds through the three HydraFacial steps – cleanse and peel, extract and hydrate, and fuse and protect – followed by LED light therapy.
The treatment is comfortable, relaxing, and most clients describe it as feeling like a cool paintbrush gently moving across the skin. The full appointment takes about 60 minutes, and you can return to your normal activities immediately afterward – including makeup, if desired.

Most importantly, follow any personalized instructions provided during your appointment.
After Your HydraFacial
To protect your results, please follow these aftercare guidelines:
- Avoid touching your face unnecessarily for several hours
- Skip makeup for at least 24 hours if advised
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and heat (saunas, hot tubs) for 24–48 hours
- Use gentle skincare products only (no exfoliants, retinol, or acids for 2–3 days)
- Apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) daily

- Follow the aftercare products recommended by your aesthetician
